This dazzling collection of wall art has an elegant twist and is handcrafted by a highly skilled team of artisans located in Maryland. Using Brass, copper and stainless steel mesh as their canvas, they are able to capture the unique character and qualities of these carefully chosen images that have been collected from antique dealers around the world. Each image is then individually hand-printed onto the metal mesh using a special printing process. After which, UV protected inks are used for added protection to ensure that the color will last, even when exposed to elements such as sunlight. Additionally, all of the metal mesh designs have been distressed and aged by hand, with different wash finishes applied, to lend an antique quality to the collection. The transparent characteristic of the metal mesh allows light to pass through the art, thus creating a backlit effect when displayed in windows. The art can be suspended from a hook in the ceiling, away from the wall about 4”-6”. It can also be hung in a window, allowing light to pass through it. Seam lines, color variations, kinks and creases are natural characteristics of the metal mesh. Time and natural elements change the color of the metal adding antiquity to each piece, so no two pieces will age alike.
